Marinah is a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, certified in 2024 after beginning her career in Somatics in 2019. She is a co-teacher with Kate White Prenatal and Perinatal Programs. Marinah has taken additional certification trainings in somatics, most recently Working with Babies, The Eye of the Needle, and Womb Surround.

Marinah has organized and sustained training for Black, Indigenous and People of Color midwives and birth workers, and incorporates somatics into all aspects of her professional life. Marinah provides trauma support to the immigrant community.

Marinah owns Phoenix Midwife, a midwifery practice of over 20 years. She is the founder of Indigenous Birth, an umbrella organization for diverse advocacy and health justice projects affirming the importance of traditional and Indigenous midwives. She is a co-founder, Acting Clinical Manager and Clinical Affairs Director for Phoenix Allies for Community Health, a free healthcare clinic.

Marinah has served as a consultant, facilitator, board member, executive, organizational manager, and midwife for health justice projects in the U.S., North America, and Uganda. Her work includes public health responses, Indigenous/immigrant reproductive and primary healthcare access, health education, birth center and healthcare access.

Marinah is an event planner directing large-scale events since 2009, including conferences, workshops, retreats, and community gatherings.

Marinah continues to learn traditional healing from teachers in Mexico, and recently published the Midwives Oracle book and deck and the Midwives Tarot. She is currently working on the Tarot book.
